If you're going to have your cell phone on 'tone' instead of 'vibrate' at the office, have the decency to at least put it on soft chirps or bells. Don't be a knucklehead and have tones of the latest song blaring so that when someone calls you, everyone hears "bitch", "fuck", "ass", like ten times in a row. Doesn't look good and probably won't do anything for your career.
If you get into a crowded elevator, you take a spot where you can, granted. Even if you're uncomfortable-it will only last for a short period. As people get off the elevator, MOVE to an open space. I hate it when it's like 2 or 3 people in the elevator and they stay in the same spot they were in when it was crowded! You have the whole elevator. MOVE YOUR ASS!
If you're carrying a long umbrella, when you walk be careful so that when you bring your arm back in full swing you don't hit the person in back of you. It's surprising how many people don't realize this. Incredible...
When riding the train, don't put your bag right next to you like you don't want anyone sitting there. They paid they're $2, just like you did and they can sit anywhere they want. In fact if you do act like you "vant to be alone", you may just start a fight. Just like what happened this morning no my way in. Dude put his bookbag next to him and for a while no one sat near him. Someone came on at 149th Street and politely asked him to move his bag. Dude ignored him. The other guy shoved his bag on the floor and the two of them got into it. Dude with the bookbag caught a beatdown. If you want to ride comfortably, don't ride the NYC transit-call a cab or drive!
